I've seen bad TV shows, and I've seen horrendous TV shows.

I have never seen anything this bad. Not ever.

The next time I want to complain about wretched shows or movies, I'm just going to think about this, and remember how much worse it could be.

Caveat visor. And have something on hand to get the bad taste out of your brain after it's done.

Why Lisa....WHY?!!!!!

The horror.

It started off so bad, how did it keep getting worse? I wish I had a long brillo pad I could thread through my ears and pull back and forth.

Shudder. [Angst]

For the love of all that is holy, if you haven't clicked on the link...DON'T!!

Now you've made me really curious. I can't wait to get home to see it! [Big Grin]

Oh, it's not that bad.

Until she turns into Wonder Woman.

Then it's awful.

That was horrifying, and MST3K-worthy.

I feel like I need to take a shower.

I am still trying to decide if how shy flies off in the end deserves some kind of actual respect for being so...so....speechless.

So, was that supposed to be Hippolyta, or what? [Confused]

I'm sorry... misery loves company, I guess. And... it was so spectactularly awful that I felt the need to share the pain with people who I knew would really feel it.

Well, I'm not sure it really is the worst. The Star Wars Holiday Special sets quite a precedent.

Wow. That's just awful.

The music, oh God, THE MUSIC!

And am I the only one that caught how the narrator mixed up mythology (Mercury's Roman mythology, but I imagine they don't trust their audience to know the Greek counterpart), or how he can't pronounce "Athena"?

And, in order to compensate for that atrocity, Here ya go!

Threep, I quite enjoy parts of the SWHS... The Julia Child parody is priceless.

Posted by ketchupqueen (Member # 6877) on :

*giggles* That is so not Wonder Woman. Would be funny on SNL, though, vaudville music and all.

Posted by Corwin (Member # 5705) on :

Ok, did anyone notice that the "reflection" in the mirror is moving in the opposite direction than it should?

Not that that's the biggest problem! [ROFL]

Posted by ketchupqueen (Member # 6877) on :

Yes, that was very funny.

Posted by Lisa (Member # 8384) on :

The reflection is also a different actress.

Posted by ketchupqueen (Member # 6877) on :

Precisely.

That was just so brilliantly awful.

The horrendous dialog made me cringe into my chair. The mirror scene made me cringe even further into my chair. The little flying-away dance, with accompanying sound effects, made me fall out of my chair.

I thought it was pretty good. [Dont Know]

I kinda liked it. *shrugs*

What was good, specifically? [Big Grin]

The high quality acting, along with the interesting cinematography.

In all seriousness, though, the producers of that show must have felt that the character could be made more realistic by humanizing Wonder Woman. They were brave to go with a different interpretation that the fans were not used to, and I think it just goes to show that rabid fans will destroy anything that isn't just like the way they sentimentalize their favorite books, cartoons, games or whatever.

I think they were being literarily courageous with that interpretation. That's what's good about it.

The sound editor deserved an award.

You think Wonder Woman's traditional secret identity as competent, respected career military woman Diana Prince isn't realistic or humanizing?

Hmmm. I have to disagree. I found replacing it with vile 1960s sitcom stereotypes to be repulsive and alienating. And it has nothing to do with me being a fanboy...I didn't even read the Wonder Woman comic until Gail Simone began her run. [Smile]

They weren't being particularly courageous...TV adaptations have changed super-heroes constantly through the decades. It's a fact. [Big Grin]

Maybe I was being completely sarcastic.

Posted by Lisa (Member # 8384) on :

See, I was hoping that was the case.

Have no fear Lisa. It may not be the worst thing I've ever seen (I've seen quite a few really terrible Youtube videos in my life). I think that would have to be the movie Shockwave.

But that clip was close.

I thought she looked hotter in that skirt and glasses.

She also spent more time fawning over herself in the mirror than sitting at the table trying to persuade her mom to stop wasting time.

Also her mother seems to have recovered from that faint at a remarkable pace.
