I tried posting a link to this earlier and botched it. Hopefully, I have it right this time.

You may have seen posters for Outlander way back in the summer of 2006, but the U.S. distributor (the Weinstein Company) have yet to release it. Happily, the international trailer is now online .

The film has a very simple, high concept premise: Vikings versus aliens. Or rather, a colony of vikings team up with a human-looking alien in order to fight a monstrous-looking one. It's one of those things simultaneously sound stupid and cool to me. Trailer looks kind of fun. [Smile]

If they have a tall redheaded guy named Jamie in it, it'll make a billion dollars.

Second for Jamie, I'd be all over that.

Mention of "Outlander" brought this to my mind, actually.

It gave me "Lord of the Rings" flashbacks. One of the actors looks very much like Karl Urban (Eomer) - I think it might have been Jack Huston.

When I read the title I thought "Outland," the SF cop movie with Sean Connery. It is one of the under-rated movies of the 80s that I find rather good. The book isn't that bad either - although I don't know what came first.

As for this movie? A well made Sci-Fi "Scary Saturday" feature going to the big screen.

It looks pretty good. A lot better than I expected, to be honest. [Smile]
