I gave my boss a hard time about installing Vista on his workstation. I told him he should have known better.

Look who's talking.

A few days ago, the Windows Update thing came up, and when I looked, it said it was XP SP3. And like a total idiot, I let it install.

Now I'm hosed. SP3 does not play well with Spysweeper and Zone Alarm. Why would I have imagined that it'd play well with Zone Alarm when it hadn't been more than a week or so since a Microsoft security update made Zone Alarm shut down my internet connection entirely? Beats me.

I can't even imagine having to reinstall XP. I have so much software installed. I have things the way I want them. I'm lazy. I want to hit myself. Repeatedly. With a stick.

did you fix the zone alarm problem by uninstalling the hotfix?

Does the SP include the same update as the hotfix?

If so, there should be a zonealarm update available now that addresses the incompatibility.
