The icon for hatrack, which has been a yellow light bulb for a long time now, briefly just a minute ago changed to the old H that we used to have, then changed back. Am I time traveling? hallucinating? going crazy? Or did someone else see it too?

Sure. Sure, we all saw it. And you can see all the 'H's you want in this nice safe padded room. No one thinks you're crazy. Now if you would so kindly lower the gun from Hatrack's head...

No Tatiana, it's happened to me too. I've had the forums and the Hatrack homepage on my toolbar as just icons for a long time, and every once in a while, the forum light bulb changes into the Hatrack H. It must be one of those web demons. Or Jane. Probably Jane.

She's messing with us. She always was tricksy like that.

It does that every time you view a preview post -- first the H, then the bulb.

Testing. Hmmmm, it didn't work for me. If I click preview post I get a popup box with the lightbulb icon. Then I close that and hit Edit Post and it stays as a lightbulb for me. Is that the same thing you're doing?

I get both. I have not analyzed it for any pattern.

Rivka, how strange-I had it do that to me the other day and I didn't even have Hatrack open!

I agree-Jane is checking to see if we're paying attention.

You're using IE. I'm using Firefox.

No, I'm also using Firefox, as it happens.

Ah, then it's my tab settings.

I still think it's Jane.

It might be ARIA.

It's happening again! I got a screen capture of it this time. I wasn't doing anything in particular at all, just browsing threads as usual. I wonder if it's something about Vista that makes it happen now. I'm pretty sure with XP it was always the light bulb.

I have XP and have been using IE and have seen it several times lately. The most recent one I can recall is when my IE locked up and I was looking at the tabs I had open and there was the H, just sitting there looking at me.

Experiment: OK, right now there's just a spinning circle on this tab, so I opened a new tab to the Hatrack main page, and the H is showing now. Sometimes it's the lightbulb.

OK, now the spinning circle is gone and the icon on this tab is a lightbulb. The adjacent tab with the homepage still shows the H.

Well, the code for the forum and the code for the home page point to different favicon.ico files...so that seems to be what is going on.

Hatrack is taking over.

My Gmail bookmark icon no longer has the red envelope icon, but rather the Hatrack Lightbulb. And earlier today, it was the Hatrack H.

I though Google would take over the world, but if it can't even keep its own icon, it seems to be losing the battle.
