Huh. It appears that Fox is no longer satisfied with canceling their own science fiction shows before their time.

Nor does ruining the X-Men film series satisfy them.

Is anyone familiar at all with this case? It seems to me that something like laches ought to apply. From what I've read, it sounds as though Fox has moved relatively late to assert their rights, which at best would leave WB in a very weak position to negotiate an agreement with Fox. As I said, I'm not all that familiar with either this case or the legal aspects, so I was hoping someone could shed some light on this.

PS: What's with not allowing parentheses in html links in this forum? It can sometimes make linking to a wikipedia page a pain.

all i know is

Where did you hear that this isn't going to be released? They've already sunk a lot of money into this, and Fox isn't going to go out and pay to make their own. As far as I know, this is just a cash grab.

Sure.

But it isn't released until it's released.

When will it be released? No one knows.

Last I heard (EW source), Warner Bros. was trying to have the judge make some sort of ruling as to what a fair buying price for Fox's stake in Watchmen's distribution. Cross fingers that will go smoothly. A few million dollars wouldn't be too much to ask to get a finished potential blockbuster to the big screen, but the players may get greedy.
