This one focuses on the precarious political situation...

It also contains a couple of spoilers. You have been warned.

Does this mean they made the wrong choice and replaced the ending from the comic? That bites.

Define "replaced". It looks like what happens in the comic's climax still happens. But it's hard to tell.

Alan Moore has already stated that he hates (?the script for?) the movie.

Yeah, but that was a foregone conclusion. The mushroom cloud bothered me. There shouldn't be a mushroom cloud.

aspectre: Alan Moore has been bashing the movie for a few years now. That isn't news. [Smile]

Lisa: The mushroom cloud in the trailer appeared in the sequence where Nite Owl and Silk Spectre are kissing.

Which is where it appears in the book. It was a fantasy sequence

From what we see of that fateful day in Manhattan, there's an unknown energy erupting...but it doesn't look nuclear in nature.

Doesn't Moore hate every adaptation of his works? And apparently he also said David Hayter's script "was as close as [he] could imagine anyone getting to Watchmen."
