Lawyer and a journalist.

I wonder who could possibly be responsible for this?

Disgusting.

A random thug? Maybe he owed money to the mafiya? Rogue Ultra-Nationalist KGB agent?

Blayne: A random thug who carries around a silenced pistol and has no problem doing it in broad daylight? Not to mention that this journalist is the 15th journalist to be murdered since Putin took power. And all these journalists were involved in criticisms of the Russian government and sympathetic to other Eastern former Soviet nations.

If you look just alittle bit Blayne I think the evidence is obvious that prominent opponents of the Russian government end up dead. I doubt it's because Russians are all uber patriots.

This article puts it best IMO.

Read about the old Mafia hits in NewYorkCity: .22caliber to the head, drop the gun, and walk away.
Usually no one at the crowded restaurants could give a decent eyewitness description.
