I have a quick computer question. I need to reinstall my operating system on my desktop, however, I have an internal hard drive that I worry will be formatted as well. If I were to completely reinstall my operating system, will my other internal drive be formatted as well? Will I lose all the information on my computer?

ETA: In other words, I have a C drive with my operating system, and another internal hard drive, a D drive, that stores files. I want to reformat my C drive but I don't want it to effect my D drive. Can I do that?

When you reinstall your OS it will reformat the drive where you are installing your OS. You don't need to worry about it reformatting the other drive, HOWEVER you do need to worry that you point it to the right drive during the install process.

It is very easy to point it to the wrong drive and reformat the OS in the wrong place. IF they have the same drive capacity you might want to disconnect the second internal drive. You will be fine if you feel comfortable identifying the correct drive.

One drive is 80GB and the other is 250GB so I should be fine with that.

Thank you lem, I have been looking for help for a few days now, so it is much appreciated.
