Of those 33 posts, more than half were personal attacks (not on me, but between two people). I found it disgusting and felt it broke Hatrack rules to the extreme. Since I find Hatrack rules are almost never enforced and inconsistent when it is enforced I took matters into my own hands.

Can someone explain to me what mayfly means? I'm young and naive and am so confused whenever I see it.

A Mayfly is a thread created for a specific purpose, often to ask a single question or contact somebody. When the question is answered or the purpose of the thread otherwise exhausted, the thread is deleted.

A mayflay is a thread in which the original poster states that he is likely going to delete it, usually within a short timeframe from the thread's creation.
