I'm doing a remodel to my basement and building a dedicated theater room. Just thought I would ask for opinions. I have all the compenents I need except the projector. I've already decided that at this point I can't aford a 1080p. And truth be told I'm entirely fine with a 720p machine. My question is what experience do you all have with 720p projectors? I'm looking for the most bang for my buck and would like to stay in the 700.00 - 800.00 range.

Go for 1080p. Not only is it the emerging standard for native resolution, but large-scale projection is one of the few circumstances where the increased resolution really, really shines.

My (admittedly casual) inquiry says this costs about an extra $2k. High def flat panels were clearly the wave of the future 6 or 7 years ago, but people saved a lot by waiting until now. (I'm still waiting. Saw a 37 inch LCD for $400 the other day, I think. Refurbished.)

Sharp PG-320W

I've used this projector in a lot of projects. It's a little above the high end of your price range, but I can definitely vouch for it.
