Thought I would throw out some positive things about Hatrack.
Although there are days when I want to yell, "JERRY! JERRY!" like an audience member at a Springer show while reading some posts, I do continue to come here. I spend a great deal of time writing my post (check spelling and grammar) because there is quite a high standard here.
This group is well read, and highly educated.
There is someone here that can answer most any question you have or at least tell you where to find the information you need. There are people all over the world and come from all different kinds of backgrounds and religons.
This is the best group of parents I've encountered on line. People give hugs when you are not feeling well. People give congrats when you toot your own horn. People laugh when you need you spirits raised.
We have some great writers, thinkers, musicians, and even some hot messes that we love anyways.
Things change and some stay the same... I know Ketchupqueen will always give motherly advise. Claudise will always give hugs. TomDavidson will answer your computer questions. Bandocomando will be there with a great story about his classroom.
Just some thoughts.

Me too! Although I'm not sure we mean the same thing....

It's a useful barometer for the inevitable zombie outbreak. If the usual suspects stop ripping into each other, I know something big has gone down.

A forum where even if you don't fit in, you'll be welcome. And one where a non exclusive group of educated people gather. We're not all lawyers or doctors, and conversely we aren't a bunch of 15 year old boys with innumerable "let's bash twilight" threads.

But seriously, the Twilight bashing threads. Great stuff.

Hey! Someone said I'm a great part of Hatrack! That just made my day. [Big Grin]

For my part, I love how there seem to be experts about nearly any imaginable subject who are willing to share their expertise and engage in discussions. If my google-fu fails me, then I can always rely on the good people of Hatrack!

I love this place. Some day more than others, though.... [Wink]

I don't just love the place - it has taught me a significant amount, and has helped me improve my life perspective.

True story.

I use this place as a launching point for my clever memes.

But beyond that, this place positively gushed with ideas I had not considered, and I loved that. Because many of those same people who first surprised me are still here, I remain. If they leave, I'll try to be a good reason for others to stick around.
