Apparently an ATM at the Riviera Hotel in Vegas had been tampered with so that it would steal the pin and card numbers from people. Well, it just so happens that this is the location of DEFCON, a fairly well known computer security conference. Unsurprisingly, somebody noticed that something was off about the machine and after some investigation discovered the tampering.

Couldn't have been one of the conference attendees having a little fun?

I know a guy whose friends had to try out the new copier when it was invented, so they copied a dollar bill, then cut it out and put it in the cafeteria change machine. Geeky people (these were engineers, of which I are one [Wink] ) are like that. They were a bit puzzled as to what to do with the 4 quarters that came out.
