Seriously, go watch it, the show is such a massive take that against Whale Wars and are so obvious about it that I can't believe they haven't been sued for libel. (Not slander as they would need to yknow lie about Whale Wars)

The difference between slander and libel has nothing to do with insults versus lies. The only difference is that libel is printed, and slander is spoken. Both refer, in general, to defamation. Both generally refer to things that aren't true and painting someone in a negative light, though the former isn't always necessary.

This is going to be one of those episodes that wasn't actually very good, but will be lauded as genius because of its non-sequiters and tongue in cheek racism that all the fan boys love.

Ep was meh, I don't blame south park, they're understandably formulaic after a ten billion episodes.

Still, though, I laughed at CHIKENNU AND COW.

Yes, and my exact thoughts were: "fanboy fuel," and "fan service." South Park is funnier when it isn't practicing to be a study of all that makes its most popular episodes. This episode has very little to say, and says it all very loudly.

The episode could have been really good if it spent a good amount of time on the utter ineptitude of the whale warriors and their hurf-a-durf captain.

Instead they killed him in like five minutes flat so they could get back to coasting lazily on the humor of over-the-top racial stereotype. Ha ha! japanese people.

Generally I think South Park characterizations at their most brilliant when they just create ridiculous one-off characters to use in weird situations. For instance, "Welcome to Sur La Table, I'm sorry I am not 'ah-bluh' to help you today." It's when South Park focuses in on silly little affectations that it is the most funny. Fishsticks would be another such episode: "why can't you just get it man... please... just get it." That and Kanye walking around saying: "I'm the Mother****ing Lyrical Genius Voice of a Generation!"
