I can't comment on Vista or Macs, but I can say I'm loving 7(just installed it on monday). Definitely > XP.
I also just discovered three programs that make me very very happy.

I'm trying out Fences and think it's pretty neat.
Question: I'm running Windows 7 with two monitors. You know how you can now snap windows to either side of the screen to make it take up half the screen? Well with two monitors the default seems to be to put one "snappable edge" on one monitor and the other snappable edge on the far monitor. I prefer to mostly work within one monitor, using the other to watch a movie or keep reference or something while I work. Anyone know how to make it so both "snappable edges" are within the same monitor?

How would that work, exactly? I would assume there is no way to do that, because the snap function relies on coming up against the limit of where you can drag a window - and putting that limit in the middle of your two monitor display would interfere with moving things from one monitor to another.

Raymond, I'm a bit confused about your problem, partly because of how you're wording it I think.

You mean when you maximize a window to take up your entire screen right? But with two monitors you only want it take up one screen or the other depending on which monitor it starts on, correct? I've been using two monitors for a while now and never had a problem snapping a monitor to fill up one screen. It just did it automatically. You're saying on your pc when you maximize it it extends through both monitors?

I mean when you "halfimize" your window to take up half your screen. In windows 7 if you drag a window to the edge of the screen and let go, it resizes itself to take up half the monitor. Scifibum seems to know what I'm talking about. I had thought it was triggering on me being with a certain promixity to the edge as opposed to touching the edge itself, but now that I look more carefully I guess he's right. Phooey.

minor though it is (and probably duplicatable via some third party program) it's one of the things that drew me to windows 7 in the first place.
