I tried to start a website for my nursing association earlier this year, but got side tracked. I need ideas about stable free web hosting, perferably one that would allow me to design a very simple site for the association to post a limited amount of pictures, and maybe a forum for discussions.

Any ideas? What am I getting myself into doing this, hour wise? I KNOW you CAN spend as much time as you want to to make a kick butt site, but this is something I am bequeathing the next class, and I'd like to have at least a shell up for them to expand on.

I am open to suggestions. Help me, oh Hatrack guru's. [Wink]

I would help you, but after reading your posts don't think that's a good idea.

I appreciate the offer, or at least the mention. If you are referring to the one about the medical web page, I just didn't agree with the info being offered. It wasn't anything personal. [Big Grin]

This IS going to support an LPN association, so anyone else not comfortable with normal medical information, based on actual current theories and practices, probably should be aware of that.

I am not looking for anyone to DO the work for me, just to offer suggestions on where to do it, and how.

Maybe Ning.com? They let you set up a network, and you can have groups within the network, which can have topics for discussion. I belong to the Geeks! network but haven't checked in for awhile. more informatin

Ning has a free setup, but you can pay if you want to disable ads, get more storage, have your network point to your own domain, etc.

I'd second the Ning suggestion.
