While this article mostly deals with hip hop artists, I find it hard to believe that major labels aren't working these types of deals with their other artists. It's really eye opening to see how much these labels make and how much liability these artists are shouldering. The record label industry isn't so nice. I wasn't so surprised. I wonder how the business model works at labels loke Rockafella and GOOD Music.
