Okay... does anyone know how you get food coloring off of skin? Soap and water doesn't seem to work. Witch hazel? Cold cream?

Yeah. I used blue food coloring on my face. Got most of it off with makeup removal pads. My right hand still looks like "Two by two, hands of blue". When kids asked me who I was, I told them Violet Beauregard, and when adults asked me, I told them I was a woman of color.

My initial misread of the OP reminds me of all the disgusting sources from which food coloring is produced. I almost never want to eat red velvet cake again. Almost.

This is kosher food coloring. I'm hoping that that makes the sources a little less gross.

Yeah, you're mostly in the clear. I believe kosher food coloring is synthetic.

Esta! Where've you been? We just had all my sibs and their families over. My parents are snowbirding this year, so they couldn't make it. It was fun, but I'm exhausted. As usual, putting things off until the last minute...
So I wore my dobak this morning, but I changed into regular clothes for seudat Purim. I made barbecue meatballs, and that stuff'll stain.

Check the ingredients. If the coloring is alcohol based, then use an alcohol solution to remove it.

Isn't most food coloring water-based? (At least the kind I'm assuming we're talking here.)
However if enough alcohol was taken internally (which shouldn't be a problem at Purim) perhaps one would not care that one's face was blue.
For future reference, lotion plus a few drops of dish soap plus powder tempera paint is the best face paint. And it washes right off (usually.) Cold cream plus dish soap plus liquid tempera paint or cake decorating paste can work too, but does not wash as easily and the consistency is not as nice.
