Is there any way to set up some IP checking? I'm getting kind of sick of the trollpuppet.

I don't think it would be particularly effective. Especially now, it should be pretty easy to route access through various proxies, some anonymizer, etc.

I'm not worried so about making sure he gets/stays banned, but I would be curious to find out of they were in fact the same person.

It's either one or a few people, but all the same collaboration nonetheless. Clive Candy, in particular, seemed distinctly shared by more than one individual, if not just used by one individual who kept accidentally shifting in and out of 'character.'
Also, someone asked me a question about clive before the threads got tanked. I didn't really get to see what it was before I got off my job. What was it?

In the recently deleted athiest thread, c.u.p. linked to an article on www.psychologytoday.com. Only one other forumite here has linked to that site. And Clive himself has said in this thread (about halfway down page 2) that he is the_Somalian. I'd say that's pretty good circumstantial evidence.
Regardless of the incendiary topic, if it's Clive, he'll eventually reveal his fanboy johnson for armchair evolutionary psychology.
