St. Louis has an annual Book Fair that is fantastic. They take the underground parking garage of a major Mall, and fill it with tables that are covered completely with books.

The books sell for anywhere from $3 to 50 cents mostly. Occasionally they have a special book for up to $8.

I've found some great books there. First edition Eisenhower's History of WWII and Peyton Place--kind of defined the 1950's. I've found collections of Amber series and Tolkien next to the novelization of original BattleStar Galactica episodes next to Battlefield Earth.

So--some good, some bad.

Last couple of years I found books that came highly recommended from this community--The Poisonwood Bible. First Man of Rome. etc. These are books I only purchased because of your recommendations.

Tomorrow I am taking my father and my son, and my mother too, and we are going to spend a couple hours pouring over these "1,000,000" books looking for gems. (I usually spend $100+ on these cheap gems.)

So, what books, of any category, should I pick up if they have them?
