Regular ejaculation helps prevent prostate cancer.

As if being morally opposed to masturbation wasn't absurd in the first place.

Posted by sinflower (Member # 12228) on :

Hmm. I wonder whether female masturbation has similar health benefits.

Posted by Belle (Member # 2314) on :

Unlikely, since women do not have a prostate. [Wink]

Posted by sinflower (Member # 12228) on :

Similar, not the same! [Razz] Such as preventing some other sort of cancer.

I think we need to find out! For Science! This is one of those cases where I am all about the evidence.

Old news.

Yup. I knew about this in the 90s.

I read an article or heard a story on NPR in the last few months (maybe a year?) that directly contradicts this. It said that men who have more ejaculations are at a higher risk for prostate cancer, but not because of the actual act of masturbating/sex. The study concluded that men who have a higher frequency of ejaculations have a higher sex drive, which is related to increased testosterone, and increased testosterone levels can be a contributor to prostate cancer.

It was something like that. I read it months ago.

I'm going to print out (and then laminate) the relevant studies and present them to my sons in binders covered with brown paper bags.

With a box of kleenex?

Are those happy Kleenexes or sad Kleenexes?

The logic seems to be then that those masturbating at high rate already need to be even more vigilant and do it even more so.

There are also genetic tendencies as well. My great-grandfather dies of it, my grand-father had it but surgery took care of it. I am closely watching my father.

I knew about this in the 20s.

(My 20's, not the 1920's).

Or you could just have more sex. Does the job just fine. Plus it's more fun [Big Grin]

While most have means and motive, not all have opportunity.

Also, there's always moral reasons. (I don't mean of the "it's a sin!" version, but at least of the "do I really want to have sex with this available person I don't really like that well but is totally available? Mmm... no.")

Posted by King of Men (Member # 6684) on :

That could apply just as well to masturbation. [Big Grin]

Your Great-Grandfather died of masturbation? And you're closely watching your father? I don't even want to think what they did to your Grand-father.

Glenn, thank you for a much needed laugh.

I guess it goes without saying that the women in my family surprisingly have not come down with that problem?

Hey, this started out as an Onanism thread, and no one even seemed to notice.

Glenn, you owe me a new monitor. Mine is now covered with iced tea.

Or at least not of prostate cancer.

Who knew that my two hobbies, healthy lifestyles and onanism, would converge?

Looks like three hobbies to me: Healthy living, onanism, and commenting on internet forums.

Oh wait, maybe it's two after all.

Any release of fluids is good for the body. Drink your water. It is recommended that men donate blood on a regular basis. All people absorb heavy metals, but women tend to "bleed" more than men,...say, once per month. Women are more prone to anemia. Iron is just another heavy metal women release more often than men. What about the other detrimental heavy metals? I donate blood every chance I get. Which is far less than once per month, so I don't have to worry about anemia.

Maybe women who refuse to breast feed are more prone to breast cancer. From what my wife expressed, her clogged mammary glands were worse than blue balls.

What color is your urine?

Which man is more prone to colon cancer? The one who drops a load after every meal or the one who does once per week? A person who struggles with constipation vs the one who relieves himself after every meal?

Flushing of systems is good for the body. Toxins build up everywhere. Toxins need to be released. Women are designed to breast feed and men are designed to ejaculate regularly. If you prefer: women have evolved to breast feed and men have evolved to ejaculate.

My wife gets on me for farting. I argue, it's unhealthy to hold the fart. Gross, yes. I'ld rather my colon not fill with gas for societal pressures. Formula feeding babies might be easier but detrimental in ways we do not know.

Sex to a man is like milking for a cow. Sex to a woman is something else. My wife never understood my sex drive until she felt the milk pressure inside her breasts. When our infant's didn't want to drink, she pumped to relieve the pressure.

A charming story of how you stopped having to beat your wife. I'm glad she understands now.

I feel sad saying that I can't be sure that this is the weirdest post you've ever written, but it's up there.

No wonder old people get cancer.

I can't stop reading it. I can't help but be fascinated by the segue into him thinking ah, at long last, it is time to point out to the forums that I poop and fart a lot and that my wife understands my sex drive much better now that I framed things in terms of her breasts ejaculating
