I just watched the pilot and I'm hooked! Instead of watching Nikita go through the process of becoming disenchanted with Division, the show starts with her already there and trying to bring it down. Since we don't see her going through training and missions, they have a couple of recruits that we get to follow as well.
I was a little concerned that since it was CW, they'd go for the "knock them out, but don't shoot them" route which just does not make sense for a spy series. But so far, that doesn't seem to be be the case to me.
Anybody else watch this one or the old series? Any thoughts?

Watched the first series very irregularly, I was pretty young. Even then I think I thought it was just cheesy fun.
The fact that it was shot in Toronto lent some fun too. I remember the local Sega City doubling as a "secret base"

I think you are the reason we have bad shows, Amanecer, and I want some form of hand-written apology or perhaps a bacon sandwich.
I liked the original movie. It was in French. Which makes me cool and pretentious.

To each their own Jebus.
I was pretty young when the first series was on and I haven't seen it since, so cheesy fun could be spot on.

I watched A-Team so I don't think it is fair to just blame Amanecer. Of course, I was like what 5?

Why yes, yes it does... I loved the movie!
Never saw the series because I was afraid it wouldn't live up to it.

Amanecer: Don't get me wrong, I still *like* cheesy fun when it doesn't pretend to be anything else

Wait, the pilot already aired? Here I thought none of the new shows started until next week

Nikita is a male peasant name in Russian. It's like naming your hero "Cletus."
