Hey!

So I've been hearing an interesting sound on many hip hop and rap songs. It is a sort of hisk/tick sound that occurs like 2 times a second.

I just don't know what it is or how it is made and am curious! =)

For instance, you can hear it

here (24 seconds in onwards)
and even on Poker Face in an electronic form.

Any ideas?

The one happening twice a second in the first link is an electronically generated cymbal, I think.

Na, I mean the tisking sound behind it. the cymbal is once a second; this one is more like 2-3x a second =)

I think it's a sample of a small group of people clapping their hands. Maybe distorted or something?
