An adaptation of the My Teacher is an Alien series.

Think about it. It's got aliens, space travel, cool future tech, drama, suspense, moral dilemmas, awkward teenage love, and the story is plenty flexible for splitting into hour-long episodes.

It's perfect. In fact, I'm gonna need them to get started on this immediately.

So long as you include the obligatory time travel episode, I'd back it.

And cast Summer Glau somewhere. That always works well for sci-fi shows.

That series had some charm. It could work. But I'd really like to see more high-concept sci fi on TV.

Although I suppose they could add deeper science-fictional components to the mix, like how Terminator: TSCC brought in a more complicated time-travel element to the Terminator formula.

Wait, a Joss Wheedon Sci-Fi show on Fox?

.....You must want it to end prematurely.

That's exactly what people are doing.

Also, make sure the episodes are broadcast in a different order than the writers intended.

And be sure the whole thing is so darn good that there is real anguish when it does get canceled.
