I don't want to provide any context. The first time I watched I had no idea what was going on and it was better that way.

Edit: Okay, sorry. Violent images ahead.

Umm...dude. Context needed.

Violent and disturbing video game images in the above link.

I'd at least warn that the content is fairly disturbing/upsetting.

(Or what Scott said)

Very interesting, a bit brave to cross that line so soon.

Yeah, sorry. Also, my definition of "safe for work" is different, since everyone in my office gathered to watch this. My bad.

That's essentially the same thing as Coldplay's trailer for the song The Scientist. Just tweaked a bit for the genre of game it's advertising.

Also, Gears of War already did the "calm music while really violent stuff is happening" thing.

But, that was still interesting to watch; I don't think I'll be playing the game.

Coworker sent this to me in the morning without telling me what it was. I've seen reverse-time stuff before and I've seen the Gears of War trailer, but I do think this accomplished something specific and (borderline) meaningful that similar pieces have not.

I definitely am not playing the game, partly because I'm zombied out and partly because there's no way the actual gameplay will be like the trailer at all. But I thought the cinematography was excellent enough to be enjoyed on its own merits.

I couldn't make it through the video. Alas.

If the first image in the video is a PEGI "18+" advisory, a warning would probably be a good idea... [Wink]

So it's basically Left 4 Dead at a beach resort?

Doubtful. As you can see there isn't even one armed person left alive after that trailer. The entire game will consist of the player lurching around as zombie amongst other zombies, unable to find any brains to eat.

As is to be expected, advanced reviews have been somewhat underwhelming.

You really feel the zombie's frustration, though.

I saw this trailer yesterday. I thought it was very effective.

Actually, the trailer was less like The Scientist, and more like Memento. It wasn't completely reversed, but had scenes progressing forward from the beginning and backwards from the end, meeting in the middle.

I'm actually impressed with the trailer. I think it was well put together. I don't know if I will play the game yet, I'll wait a while to see what kind of reception it gets. The team that made the trailer though should get hired to do some movie trailers. It's been a while since I've seen a really good one...

Well, I take that back, Battlefield L.A. has a pretty good trailer.

Well. I thought that 'The Walking Dead' was sad (after the first episode I had to stop watching - it was very good, and was just too depressing for me).

But this...

Very effective - and affective. But personally, I wouldn't ever consider playing the game after that.

So it's basically Left 4 Dead at a beach resort?

More like Dead Rising, heavy on the melee weapons and hiding to survive but without the dark humor.
