I picked them from my bookstore today, they look like really neat young adult graphic novels; they are in colour.

I'll post updates as I read them, they look really neat kind of story.

Just looking at the cover fills me with nostalgia of those amazing television movies like The Dark Crystal.

I'm really looking forward to reading these.

quote:

Amulet is the brainchild of Kazu Kibuishi, editor of Flight and author of the webcomic Copper and graphic novel Daisy Kutter. It's a graphic novel (3 volumes so far) chronicling the adventures of Emily, her brother Navin, and her mother, as they find themselves caught up in an alternate, subterraneous world called Alledia. The titular amulet is found by Emily in a new house they move into.

Alledia is home to all sorts of wild and imaginative things, like tentacled monsters, walking houses, talking trees, and Emily finds herself trying to not only keep her family together, but also fight an increasingly brutal war against an evil race of elves bent on dominating everyone else.

A wonderful sounding adventure, keep you posted, I need to find more books like these. You know, like How to Train Your Dragon and Series of Unfortunate Events, young kids being badass in a harsh yet beautiful world.
