I dunno, I'm watching a random episode on the comedy network since its convenient but I'm not seeing it as nessasarily being compelling a friend described it as basically a funnier Jay Leno and I'm sorta seeing it as a midpoint between Colbert amd Jon Stewart and is a bit funny but I can't figure out if I'm laughing because its funny or if its because its sad.

So I'm reading "The Inheritance of Rome" that OSC recommended the other day; it mentions some early saints or stylites who were apparently used by the local population as a sort of Dear Abby service, and the questions and answers were recorded. One of the questions was "I can't make up my mind, what should I do?" The answer, and you can feel the exasperation over a gap of fifteen hundred years and multiple translations, was "Pray to God, and ask us again".

Flip a flipping coin.

That's a bit rude, I was wondering if people who've regularly watch the show or more aware of it could recommend it.

Yes, you should. In fact, there's nothing more important that you could be doing with your life right now than watching that show.

Seize the day and watch the heck out of it!

I really like Conan. I'd recommend that you watch Conan.

How's that?

Completely off topic.

I think Conan O'Brien is boring and you shouldn't watch it.

*flips a coin twice*

Apparently, I think it's boring but that you SHOULD watch it.

*flips again*

This time I think it's interesting, but that you should stay away.

*flips again*

This time I think you should watch an episode and figure out if you like it.

*flips again*

This time I think you should watch something else, but would recommend DVR'ing it for later.

*flips again*

This time I'm a unicorn, but you shouldn't pay attention to me.

*flips again*

Answer hazy, come back later.

*flips again*

Sure, watch it. Why not. What else is on? Nothing? Than yes, I recommend watching and seeing if you like it.

That's how I feel about this thread.

Perhaps you should limit yourself to media where it is abundantly clear to you why you feel the way you do about it.

I watch Conan if I can't think of anything better to do.

In fact, that's how I choose all of my activities. I do the best* thing that occurs to me.

*Using a unique, and entirely proprietary behavior prioritization algorithm that I'm only partially trained to configure.

Treat it like any other late-night show - if you're interested in the guests, watch it. Otherwise, don't.

Works for me! [Smile]

So, did you watch it last night? I'm going to be very put out if you asked for advice and then didn't obey my commands to the letter.

Only if you want to.
Folks, do not be harsh on Blayne.
It is not very nice...

I haven't seen it because I don't have cable.
Though he did have an OWL in the picture advertising it.
It was so cute.

I was too busy writing background information for my D&D setting and the story that's gonna help flesh it out.

Ha! You followed MY advice!

Take that, potato face!

(just kidding!)

No way I'm going to sit and take that!

Got something better to do?

Posted by mr_porteiro_head (Member # 4644) on :

Maybe I'll read the second Hunger Games book.

Gah I have that trilogy, but it's buried behind The Lost Gate, Pathfinder, The Beyonders, Colonel Roosevelt. I need to adjust how I spend my leisure time when I've got some. It's time to burn through a few books.

Ah. Well I finished The Lost Gate anyway. Now I need to decide on Pathfinder or wait for Mull's "The Beyonders".
