I was going to take an AP European History exam today, but due to mundane delays getting out the door which were not my fault, I arrived at the school ten minutes before the time the exam was scheduled to start, which is, by my estimate, less than five minutes after the doors were closed and locked.

Now I am unable to take the exam that I've been preparing all year for. Naturally, I am a bit discontent about this.

According to the AP website, there is an alternate exam on May 19, but the school examination schedule does not show European History on its own list of alternate exams, so I'm not sure I will actually able to take the test at all. This is a real shame, since I've been studying very hard for this test, and I'd really like the AP credit for college, since I have only one AP credit in the social studies department, having not taken the American History or Government exams.

I really have nothing to be angry at, since I can't identify a specific culprit for this unfortunate turn of events, but it is nonetheless disheartening to see something as incidental as this cause something so cataclysmic.

That does totally suck.

I think that you should be able to take the make-up exam. I had an incident when I had finished the multiple choice portion of an AP but was unable to start the free response portion. My school was very annoyed with me but they allowed me to take the make-up exam anyway.

It sounds like you're definitely prepared for the test which is the most important thing. Good luck!
