I seem to have one now. Finally my hard work as paid off and I work hard talking to these angry people on the phone without turning into a bear.
Now I must get a keyboard and learn to play music and catch up.

Yay Syn!

Congratulations, Syn! That's great news!
What's the job?
Posted by Synesthesia (Member # 4774) on :
I work for unemployment opening mail and then I must patiently talk to angry people who want their reimbursements in a polite way.

Honestly, I'll take brusque reimbursement if I have to.
Congrats on the job, Synesthesia.

Try not to think of it as a permanent job. Try to think of it like it's a stepping stone in a positive direction. A place where you can start climbing. You may not ever reach the top, but at least you're on your way, and that's important.
Congrats!

True. I want to work, make money, pay rent and work on becoming an artist/musician/writer which is what I've dreamed about forever.

I suggest that you pick just one of those to focus on, at least at first.

After years of stagnating in retail and customer service the very idea of doing any type of art for a living sounds fantastic and entirely improbable. How sweet it must be to make believe and still be called a productive adult. At this point I would be extremely grateful for a sit down office position.

Congratulations Synesthesia! Best of luck keeping your cool when others do not.

Part of being a payed writer is accepting the fact that you spend a good amount of your time doing things that don't feel like work, and then justifying it in your writing. If you can do this better than others, you're a writer.

Sorry, the very expression "permanent job" is an oxymoron.
