That was... amazing. I feel like every post I've been making here lately has been making me out to be a huge teary sap, but... yeah. My eyes got totally misty during that song. It was so... unrelentingly positive and wonderful.
Candlelight was catchier, but in my opinion this is one of the best songs you guys have ever done. Or at least, of those that you've posted on Hatrack.

I'm trying to figure out why I'm sympathetic to your music, when I can't stand music produced by my own bent of religious philosophy.
I think it has to do with the emphasis on doing things; your latest is a prime example. Whereas much of Christian music that I've sampled is vanilla praise, where God only seems to require a couple alleluja's to be satisfied.

The Bieber was specifically to make fun of that guy in the group who loves Bieber. He worships him. We mock him. Mercilessly. We had to borrow the poster from my 12 year old niece.
I'm glad you guys like it - we wanted it to be universal and relatable. Despite the fact that I'm a religious person, whenever anyone shoves religion in my face I always find it terribly insincere. We tried to make the examples of bad or uninspired to inspired be simple and relatable.

I felt like it was laden with references that I wasn't getting - I sort of held off on having an actual reaction to the message because I wasn't sure if the message depended on the context I wasn't getting. Watching it a second time I definitely appreciated it though.
I also totally loved the greeks at the end.

I suddenly feel like I've seen a guy who looks just like Armoth on a TV show someone. The character that I'm vaguely remembering was vaguely sinister (I think it was Armoth in the suit at the beginning that triggered it).

I think this in large part why I feel the same way. While I do believe God is deserving of praise, and appreciates our attempting to craft words so as to express our love for him, I think he quite clearly says that our actions are the greatest form of praise we can offer.
Book of Good Life pushes that angle pretty hard, and it's refreshing. I think my favorite part of the entire song is the series of requests prefaced by the word "hopefully" each time.
"Hopefully this year will bring us happiness and peace."
"Hopefully, sensitivity to others will increase."
"Hopefully, we'll open our eyes and think more consciously"
"Hopefully, we'll go from where we are to where we want to be."
Those are all great sentiments, but strangely they are not prayed for, at least in my church meetings, nearly enough.
