Neverland Trailer.

It seems an interesting idea, anyways. The trailer looks nice enough, but we'll see how well they execute it.

I thought it was supposed to be another miniseries like they did with Wizard of Oz. It DOES look great though.

Also, seriously, did they get the same guy to play Smee that played Smee in Hook? He doesn't look like he's aged in decades! Maybe he really IS in Neverland.

That's him.

IMDB has it listed as a TV movie.

That... does actually look pretty awesome. I hope it lives up to the trailer.

And Lyr, yes, yes they did. Bob Hoskins has apparently aged fairly well. I would say he's found the fountain of youth, but... more like the fountain of rather-old-but-not-withered-and-decrepit.

That's a very interesting origin story I've never even thought about. And yet, it's so *duh* obvious now. I might give it a looksee.

It looks interesting, though I personally don't care for the idea of Hook and Peter being friends in the real world.

I hope they don't make Peter a cute little scamp.

Well, scratch off "compelling, adult TV series about the origin of Captain Hook" off the list of things I kinda wanted to do before I die. This was handled in a different way than I imagined, but still looks awesome.

For a while, I'd been imagining a series that followed Hook starting from him being around 16, prior to Neverland. At some point I decided his original name wouldn't have been "Hook," and after doing some digging, realized that Peter Pan actually has a lot of references to Treasure Island in it, and I thought it would be cool if James Hook was originally Jim Hawkins. (Hook is referred to as the only person Long John Silver ever feared)

When you aren't looking at him through Wendy's eyes, Peter Pan is also a pretty obnoxious jerk with few redeeming qualities, and I think he'd make a good straight up villain who pushed Jim over the edge.

It's a four hour miniseries that will air on December 4th and 5th.

Looks good!

The production values on this look much more lavish than most of the things produced as TV miniseries.

Looks fantastic, but I can't get the notion out of my head that someone has been waiting years to make this project and now that Micheal Jackson has passed a movie can be called 'Neverland' without people thinking its about Jackson's estate.

As to Bob Hoskins, they say that italian plumbers are like vampires. You stay the age you were when you became one.

Anyone read Dave Barry's origin books about Peter Pan? I read the first and enjoyed it a lot.

Looking forward to this though. The first time I saw the trailer I did a double take when I saw Bob Hoskins.

Interesting side note here: the Oz mini-series was supposed to spawn a full tv show (just like Battlestar Galactica), but because it failed it just never happened.
