I think there must be something in the water that is making us stupider and stupider. If I was the parent of that kid, I would call the police and have the bully arrested for assault and any other charges I could think of (attempted theft, extortion, etc...).

I don't see much hope for the human race, especially the bureaucratic aspect of it. Most of the anti-bulling, sexual harassment, and insane zero tolerance polices are simply cover your ass pieces of paper that sit in a file somewhere.

Television just continually emphasizes insane stupidity more and more, and more. Its always been around.

It's like COMSTAT- it helps at the beginning to have a good idea of what's going on on the streets. Then once you've done everything you can usefully do with that information, you go *insane* trying to redouble your results year after year. The media is just like that.

There are always two sides to every story, so who knows if the other kid was really a bully or this was just a fight that happened between two kids on a bus.

But considering it sexual harassment is just ridiculous. I could see considering it assault, but sexual harassment??? Besides, this kid is only in 1st grade. I know that we want to teach kids to handle situations without violence, but 7 is still VERY young to be involving the law in any but the most serious matters.

I've written a couple responses and deleted them, this new level of over thought ridiculous crap baffles me.

When I read it, my first thought was, if Ender had to deal with Stilson in these times, "Ender's Game" would have been a very short book.

Could you imagine Mr. and Mrs. Wiggin doing a morning news interview where they force six year old Ender to apologize? Peter would be cackling for months.

To be fair, Ender killed Stilson. One six year old killing another one tends to be a pretty big deal, no matter what "times" you live in, neh?

Well yeah, but as long as there wasn't any sexual harassment...

Apparently getting suffocated is the latest trick in the pervert hand book. Watch out ladies, next time your potentially killing someone they might sexually abuse you while struggling for their lives. And that is wrong.
