Yesterday in conversation he said: "Elrond, he's as old as...as old as Yoda."
He may be factually/fictionally incorrect, but he has the makings a a grade A nerd.

You did correct him, though, right?

Go nerds!
I don't know which is older. Elrond? Gollum is like half a yoda?
Posted by Dan_Frank (Member # 8488) on :
Elrond is substantially older than Yoda, yes.

Especially considering that he's still alive.

Elrond is over 6400 years old at the time of "Lord of the Rings", having been born in the late First Age -- and living through the entirety of the Second and Third Ages.
Galadriel (his mother-in-law) is even older, older than the entirety of the human race.
Older yet is Cirdan, who was already being busy long before Galadriel's *grandparents* (Finwe and Indis) had gotten together.

Dan- couldn't you recapitulate your story about your son sometime? I remember it from years ago, but I'd be interested to see how things have gone.

Orin, I'm working on a book.
If by working I mean, yeah, I've got to dig that stuff up and update it, but I've know this web-site that's willing to sell it for me if I can, so maybe--yeah, I'll start on that sometime before the end of the decade, hopefully.
I work real hard.
