Does anyone have any experience with either company.... or even better, both?

I currently have Comcast, but thinking of switching to Verizon. Verizon will be cheaper for at least two years, but not sure how overall the two companies compare...

Any insight is greatly appreciated!

I'm going to assume here that when you say Verizon you're talking about FiOS, as I don't think they have television with any other service, but if I'm wrong most of what I'm about to say probably won't be particularly relevant to your decision. My parents have FiOS triple play, and have for about two years. It's been very consistently fast and reliable when I've been home (with the exception of a period a week or two long a year or so ago where most of their workforce was on strike and it got really, really slow).

I don't have any direct experience with their support people, but I assume that much like most of the big ISPs it's not anything resembling good. That being said, I don't believe my parents have ever had to call them (as they would have called me first).

I have no personal experience with Comcast, but I used to hear terrible things about them from people I played WoW with. Maybe they've gotten better, but if FiOS is cheaper, I'd go with that.

Thanks for the input. Yes, I have Comcast Xfinity, and was referring to Verizon FiOS.

Play them off of each other. I have access to those two, plus Broadstripe. I always play them off of each other and manage to get some pretty great rates. Call Comcast and ask for their customer retention department, tell them you are thinking about leaving. They will make some pretty great offers.

I have been with Broadstripe for a year now, and Comcast keeps knocking on my door offering me some tremendous deals. Once my contract is up I will probably switch over, but not before asking Verizon if they are willing to beat them on price.

Comcast xfinity has a pretty awesome iPad/phone app as well- access to scores of premium cable shows, fully archived. You can access most of their on demand content anywhere. I use a VPN to access it from out of the US, which is great.
