That's pretty cool about Warsaw. Every year for like two minutes at 5 p.m., so called "W" hour, everyone stops and drivers sound their horns to commemorate the Warsaw Uprising. 1st of August 1944 at 5p.m. the fights started, resulting in annihilation of the city and death of over 200 000 people on both sides. Although I think it was unnecessary it still gave people several weeks of freedom and hope. The fighting ended in early October.

I thought you'd like to know.

The USSR were bastards, weren't they? If the German's weren't even worse, we would probably have been fighting them.

Yes, but politically it'd be a disaster for the USSR to help Warsaw during the uprising. That's why I think it was extremely naive to hope for their help...

That's pretty cool. Israel does something like that too I believe. For some reason I find public displays like this quite beautiful. I wish we did it here, but maybe we don't have something that emotionally scarring and enduring, I don't know.

But just stopping, don't move, don't drive, don't be on your phone, don't talk, just stop and listen and think and reflect and remember, all at once as a nation. I love that.
