It's official......Jenni and I are going to be parents! We've been trying (practice, practice....practice) for about 5 years, and we are thrilled!

She is about 2 month along, so we are still pretty early in the pregnancy, but Jenni got confirmation yesterday from her MD.

Other than that....well, we just found out so that's all I've got.

Kwea and Jenni couldn't even get pregnant ... for a full five years.

Kwea is superimposed over an image of a yacht.

Ask yourself: with this kind of a record, is Kwea and Jenni the right ticket for parenthood?

Kwea and Jenni. Wrong for pregnancy. Wrong for America.

Thursdays could be better.

Maybe the kid will be born on one and usher in a new era of thursday as the new friday

Thanks again! We have an OBGYN visit this week, and we are hoping for an ultrasound to confirm how far along she really is at that point.

Congrats, my wife and I just had our first child in July.

I can't imagine how you must feel after 5 years of trying. That's amazing that it worked out for you.

A word of advice, do not believe anyone who predicts the gender until they get a picture of private parts (which make take patience as it can be difficult). They get it wrong all the time, and then you end up with a nursery filled with the wrong kind of toys very easily.

LOL....I'm so excited that I am still awake.....and the appointment is in 4 hours. [Big Grin]

Apparently I was right....they DON'T do a sonogram the first visit. Jenni insisted that was what we were going for today, but nope....

That's NEXT monday! [Big Grin]

The wrong kind of toys...are boring ones?

Pink sheets and tootoos for a boy.

Posted by rivka (Member # 4859) on :

No idea what a "tootoo" is. But what's wrong with pink sheets for a boy?

It violates some sort of strict heteronormist policy about what color sheets an infant boy is allowed to be swathed in without being embarrassed, because that's totally, like, a girl color, maaaan

Posted by rivka (Member # 4859) on :

You don't say.

Posted by Stone_Wolf_ (Member # 8299) on :

Blah blah blah, hetonormist policy, blah blah blah, color schemes have changed over time blah blah...

All of that is very nice and all, but -if- Kwea and JenniK do decide to decorate their infant's room to the currently accepted norm of gender colors then they might want to wait for confirmation of gender.

[rant]Y'all hippy right (opposite of wrong, not left) fighters can dress your own children and decorate their rooms however you like all the while with your nose so far in the air all you can see is the ceiling![/rant]

That is all.

[Smile]

ETA: rivka...tutu...and misspelling aside, I doubt highly that you have no idea what I meant.

*shrug* I really didn't have a clue. I had an "OH!" moment when I first saw this most recent post of yours, though.

Anyway, who buys tutus for a newborn?

Posted by Shan (Member # 4550) on :

What fabulous news! Congratulations!

Posted by Stone_Wolf_ (Member # 8299) on :

My daughter owned two before she was even born.

Princesses need their tutus.

I have two teenaged girls, both of whom have owned tutus and one point or another, and this boggles my mind.

Do babies need tutus?

Yes!

My wife and I also just had our first child in July! It is AWESOME. Congratulations!

Posted by Kwea (Member # 2199) on :

LOL....we both love blue as a color, and pale yellows, so I'd say those will be the colors we go to regardless of the gender. We will have some pink if it is a girl, but not too much, as neither of us are crazy about the color.

Posted by Jeni (Member # 1454) on :

congratulations!

Posted by Kwea (Member # 2199) on :

Thanks!

She is about 8-9 weeks now. We had thought she was almost 3 months when we announced it, but according to the ultrasound last Monday she was between 7 and 8 weeks at that point.

Well... Its fortunate that I decided to visit good ol' Hatrack today, after a long time!
I wish JenniK (and you) a happy pregnancy and I'm sure your baby will bring everyone much joy!

I think you just described me, except for the nose in the air part.

Tutu's for little girls, most definitely!! Fun fun!!

There are so many beautiful colors available to use that it would be a shame to stick to basic blue, yellow or pink. Why stereotype your new amazing bundle of yumminess right from the beginning? [Smile]
