I am sorry about what (possibly) happened to those young men and I am sorry about what Mr. Clash (possibly) did. I am sorry for the kids who loved Elmo.
But I must confess that I have always found Elmo annoying and, in my deepest heart hope, for a re-ascendance to popularity of Grover.

Seconded.
As for characters played by Mr. Clash, I prefer Baby Sinclair.

Romney was gunning for Big Bird...
Really though, wow. If it is true, I can't help but think the recent documentary and publicity that Clash has done, putting his face out into the media, contributed to him being identified by the alleged victims. It totally astounds me that a person in such a public role would engage in such risky behavior.
To be fair though, it astounds me that some people are possessed to troll for underage sex partners at all. I don't even find talking to underage women particularly appealing; much less would I want to pursue one romantically. I was 16 once- I don't especially like being reminded of what that's like. But for this guy to engage in that? That speaks of powerful urges.
