As the title says, i'm curious to know if anyone knows anything about the progress made on the book; Shadows Alive?

Is OSC still writing the book? Has it been forgotten? The wait is killing me =(

Been waiting years and years =(

My understanding is that Card is finishing up his contracts for Mithermages and Pathfinder before doing anything else. One more book to go for each of those series.

I would imagine that because of the Ender's Game movie, OSC will want to put out another book sometime around that time. Who knows what it will be, though.

It seems that he would want to put out something that would be a stand alone novel or a first book of a series.

Oh.. Does anyone know if the book is planned or is already being worked on by OSC? From what i've heard, he's been writing it little by little after the release of Shadows in Flight(January 2012)? or even before that?

Well...OSC has been saying since his stroke that he's working on the novels which he already has under contract.

Which, according to my understanding, is the Pathfinder trilogy and the Mithermages trilogy, both of which have one novel to go (which means he'll be working on those at least till the end of next year, if not 2015).

I have no clue about whether or not there's other novels under contract. Maybe he'll work on it with Aaron Johnston? That'd be pretty awesome!

That's not generally how it works. The publishers and film industry both will be interested in sales of the original book itself. When the book comes out, OSC will *probably* make more money on those royalties than he will on anything he gets from the film, but that depends a lot on what his contracts look like (Hollywood accounting not withstanding).

"Original" in this case with the crass redacting of racial slurs of course.

Not sure why it's crass - OSC has explained about his reasoning, and none of it had to do with wanting more money.

He offered his explanation, yes. I still find it crass- and no, it has nothing really to do with money. Not directly.
