I was just feeling nostalgic and checking out some old posts... does anyone know how far back the forum saves them?

Except for a couple of landmark threads, the oldest posts available seem to be from 2003. You can use the drop down at the top of the topic list to change how much history is visible.

This led me to go look at the writer's forum, and it was really surreal to realize (again, maybe?) that there's a whole parallel community there without much immediately visible overlap.

That's like discovering there's a whole other inhabited wing of the house you've been living in for the last decade.
I get the same feeling on the once-every-five-yearly occasion that I open one of the other forums.
