[spoiler alert]
Is it just me who ships Miro and Jane like crazy?
Is there any definite answer as to weather they will be in the future sequel to Shadows In Flight and Childeren Of The Mind, 'Shadows Alive'?
The title hints that it will involve the 'shadow' Peter, and Si Wang-Mu, and I read online somewhere that it was hinted that Bean's off spring could be the ones to deal with the Descolada.
I really hope that Miro and Jane get a big role in Shadows Alive, since they're easily my favorite two characters. I feel like a teenage girl shipping them, but they're just so cute together in my head!

Is "ship" some sort of hip word that the kids are using these days that I'm oblivious to?

<goes off to urban dictionary to be able feign coolness in the future>

It's a term used for that feeling when a couple (whether they are actually an existing couple or just two people/characters you think would work well together), makes you all fuzzy inside, and you thus want to know as much of thier adventures together as possible.

No, I think OSC does too.

Short for "relationship" as in "I want them to be in a relationship".

Is it wierd if OSC ships Miro, a character possibly partially based of his own child (whom suffers from some disabilities), and Jane, who is practically a robot girl?
Heck I guess it's wierd taht I ship it but I don't care, I love it!

I think we're meant to see their relationship as close and similar to a romantic one, even if it lacks some elements you'd normally see.

So that's why I say that OSC would agree with you - because I think he deliberately portrayed them as having an intimate relationship.

Now, if you want them to start making out, or something, I'm not sure if OSC is on board. But after "Children of the Mind" it would be odd to complain merely because of something weird happening, so have at it!

Nah, no more than kissy stuff. But I desperately want more adventure based on their characters!

They are the reason Children of the Mind is my very favorite Speaker quartet book. [Smile]

Definitely want more adventures! That's why Shadows Alive is the book I want most from OSC!

This is my first post. Is Shadows Alive in the works? I'm very interested in seeing how Bean's kids turn out.

Shadows Alive is in the works, but I believe Mr. Card is working on finishing up his Pathfinder series as well as the Mithermages series.

In fact, right now it looks like "Visitors" (the last Pathfinder book) will be released sometime this November. I couldn't find anything on the final Mithermages book.

Both are worthwhile series to read if you haven't already.

I believe OSC said he was going to finish Shadows Alive after those two books.

Also, read the prequel series. It starts with Earth Unaware, followed by Earth Afire. The final book in the series, Earth Awakens, will be released on June 10!
