So recently, my computer kicked the proverbial bucket. I had to reformat. I did so, re-downloaded iTunes, then asked them to re-grant all my previously purchased media. Included in my previous purchases was just over $200 of audiobooks, namely of the Ender and Shadow series (I have about $800 total, the $200 is just in books by OSC). Not included in the re-download were all of my Ender/Shadow novels, save for first meetings, and Exile, as well as Empire (however, Hidden Empire re-downloaded just fine) iTunes stated that the books in question had either been removed (not the case, as I saw them in the store) OR had changed in some other way, thus making re-acquiring them thru any other means that purchase impossible. My question: Has anyone else had this problem with any other media? I have a lot of time on my hands, so like to listen to different audiobooks. Therefore, I don't have any of the books on my devices, so I cant just transfer them back from my phone/ipad/etc. It'd be worth mentioning that the ONLY audiobooks that were affected by this were books by OSC, so that's why I figured I'd come here. any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I'm not sure I follow. Are the audiobooks in question not showing up under purchases?

support said that they indeed saw all the purchased audiobooks, but that something had changed, either the audiobook itself, or rights to it etc. That makes it so they cant add it to the download when allowing me to download purchased content again.

I think this would be one of those times it would be ethical to find the torrents.

As great as ebooks and downloadable audiobooks are, we don't actually get to own the content. At any time Itunes, or Amazon, can just pull it based on agreements with the publishers. They really hurt those of us that do the right thing. Ebooks and audiobooks need to start acting like mp3s which have pretty much all gone DRM free.
