A random smattering of artists and favorite songs I've got on my current playlist right now:
Empty Houses - "Rope" John Mark Nelson - "After All I've Done" (but really the entire I'm Not Afraid album) DNCE - "Cake by the Ocean" Twenty One Pilots - "Heathens" or "Stressed Out"

I'm stuck in a musical vortex. I no longer listen to anything new unless someone makes me.
Get off my lawn.
So I'm listening to Peter Gabriel, the Who, and the Band.

Fair warning, though -- the video is terrible. Really terrible. Not only is there no chemistry between the two main players at the end, but it feels as if two magnets of the same polarity are being physically forced together for swapping spit.
I'm pretty sure one of them killed the other one's dog. Great song, though.

I Want You Back by Lake Street Drive. (Give this one a try CT)
I'm Ready by The Commodores. Songs don't always need lyrics, particularly funk.
Manhattan by Sara Bareilles. For when I feel like feeling sad. From what I understand, Ms. Bareilles wrote it when her desire to move to Manhattan to further her musical career was so strong she broke up with her boyfriend of 7 years, because he didn't want to leave LA. This song is written from his perspective. It crushes me.

Oh, yeah. It just started, and I like.
Edit: A lot.

Just updated a bit of the description for Manhattan. I hadn't known the back story, but that makes it even more heartbreaking.

Oh. I love The Call by Regina Spector. She recently released a cover of While My Guitar Gently Weeps that is just fantastic.

It's from Kubo and the Two Strings, and the song works very very with the movie.

Really enjoying the Lake Street Drive stuff!

Yuja Wang's inspired interpretation of Prokofiev's 2nd Piano Concerto. Conducted by Paavo Järvi (great conductor, I especially like his Ravel). Prokofiev wrote three, wonderful piano concertos. They're all very energetic and have high demands on the performer. The third is a bit whimsical and possibly my favorite, but the energy and verve of the 2nd is hard to beat.

Hobbes, that one is... different - and quite captivating in a strange way. I can imagine it must be demanding to perform.

People!
I just discovered Can't Stop Won't Stop. They are outstandingly funky, and their raps flow so nice.

I listened to Savatage "Streets" today while coming to work. Yesterday I have played Tony Levin's Ressonator and before that Mesguggah's Destroy Erase Improve and Chaosphere.
