This is in hopes that people will look here when they want to know how to join a Hatrack Group, and won't open other topics to ask how to do it.

Start at
http://www.hatrack.com/writers/writers/index.shtml

which will tell you how the writers groups work.

After you've read that page, please select "How to Join" which is in the column on the left side of the webpage. This will take you to a page where you can read about joining a group.

After you've read that, please select "Please fill out this form" which will take you to a page where you can enter the answers to the questions for our application form.

Once you've filled out the form and sent it on to me, I will work on finding or creating a group for you to participate in. It make take a few weeks before there are enough other people with the same interests as you, but I will contact you about a group as soon as possible.

So it will stay near the top of the list for people entering the page?

No, I don't have that covered, but I can't really see asking people to post every so often, nor can I see expecting people to wade through less than useful posts.

Thanks for the offer, though.

Maybe what I will do is post something myself once in a while, to bring it to the top of the list, and then delete the post?

I've been on plenty of UBB forums, so I'm used to seeing threads titled "Please keep this at the top".

I did have trouble finding the signup form. Here's why:

I go to hatrack.com, click on WRITERS WORKSHOPS, then two options appear. HOW TO JOIN, or ENTER THE WRITERS WORKSHOP.
So I click on HOW TO JOIN.
I come to a description of the groups, but no form. The form is actually hidden under HOW TO JOIN on the sidebar. But why would I click HOW TO JOIN again when I've just done that? I thought I was already on the HOW TO JOIN screen.
Eventually I did get there, but for the sake of navigation, it might help to add a link at the end of the HOW GROUPS WORK screen.

How about a button on the button bar at the top of each page? A How to join one--simply Join a group.
