I work with a group called the Willamette Radio Workshop. In an effort to help foster new work for radio theater, we've started a forum (modeled on Hatrack) to discuss radio theater. In particular, there's a section called "Script It" for working on new radio scripts. If anyone is interested, please hop on over to http://www.radiowork.com and click on Radio Talk.

Yours,
Mary Robinette

An impressive group, Mary. Interesting site. Never thought about writing for radio. Thanks for bringing it to our attention.

Nifty. So how does one go about getting a radio script published (assuming one were so arrogant as to think one could write one)? The projects look fairly lengthy, do you do any thing short?

BTW, nice pic!

Ah, found my headshot did you? We do short works as well as full length productions. "Murder of Crows" was an evening of shorts ranging from five to twenty minutes long.

Radio scripts aren't published so much as produced. In other words, performed. We produce scripts for live audience and in the studio. I've had one short produced and am working on a serial adaptation of a 1907 romance novel. We are always looking for good scripts, though compensation is fairly minimal at this point.
