Today I tried to acces the chat section on hatrack. Although I couldn't on this computer becuase I don't have Java, this made me think of several things.
1) Perhaps we could set up times to meet on the Hatrack chat. We could discuss books we've read, and have a convienent way of having conversations and crituqes. Similar to the Writer Groups, but more informal and universal.
2) I was also wondering how many people on this board use instant messengers. Perhaps we could share contact info. I'll start with mine.

Another site I use has regular scheduled meetings in their chatroom. I think its a good idea.
aliettedb@hotmail.com (but as I live in France I have hours that would coincide with everyone else's only 30% of the time)

Some of us also use an AIM chatroom, Hatrack Chat. There's usually a writer or two floating around in there.

Eric -- what's with using your actual NAME for a profile. That's just too easy.
AIM: barderspond Yahoo: rjz123 (okay, not much better than using my full name, but still...)
We do non-domestic cat rescue (small breeds) mostly animals that someone thought would be a cool pet but then discovered that even a small non-domestic is not a house cat. They will bite, scratch and tear your house apart if you don't know what you are doing with them.
Right now we have two forest cats, and an ocelot who are members of our family on a permanent basis.

Instant messages need a separate name? You have to register with different IM's? My computer ignorance reaches farther than I thought.

Ok here goes: I have Aim, yahoo and msn messenger. I'm usually on in the afternoon after work.
I tried to come up with different things for each one, how'd I do?

You guys ever hear of this free Trillion program that you can put all of your IMs in the same program (ie. be connected to AIM and MSI at the same time in one program). I have friends who love it. Makes their lives easier.
Forgot to say that I am only online when I'm at work (school, whatever, same thing), which mostly corresponds to the daytime hours of EST.

There's actually a MaryRobinette out there too, and it's not me. What're the chances?

Pretty good, I'd guess. There are about a million Richard Chius running around on the internet.

Oh, fine. If you're going to be rational about it.
