Well, djv has put the next rewrite challenge up, but hasn't put a Discussion Zone up for it... i'm taking care of that

i'm thinking i might try to put something together this time.

however, the idea that i have is a little peculiar, i want to COMBINE the two together, they seem to follow each other as a set of related myths. as in they have some character names in common and some other elements in common.

i was wondering if it was okay to do this, after all the challenge is to rewrite one or the other, not rewrite them both and combine them.

i am also thinking of doing something a little different. i'm in the mood for a little epic poetry. so, hope there's some taste for it here among hatrackers

Not only is it OK, it's right on. These two stories are actually segments of a much larger mythological cycle. You can view the whole thing on the websites listed on the challenge.

I picked these two because I thought they possessed the most pliable elements for a writer to work with.

wow... seems that these rewrite challenges have completely fallen out of favor...

i'm still intending on participating, even though, to be perfectly honest, i haven't actually started yet.
