I hope I'm not breaking some obscure rule by doing this, but I have something I'd like to share with you guys.

I've long been a peruser of the fantasy art site Elfwood (which at least some of you are probably familiar with). A couple years back I established myself a page in their writers area as well.

A while ago, I wrote a short story inspired by one of the images from an artist there. We started corresponding and she read some of my stuff, and she has now done a wonderful illustration of two of my favorite characters. You can see it here:http://www.elfwood.com//art/e/l/elinavm/emrys_and_lady.jpg.html

She's a gifted artist-human figures arent even her speciality. She writes a bit as well.

Hope you guys enjoy it, and that I'm not commiting some odd breach of etiquette...

That is amazing. That must be such a rush to actually SEE characters you created. Thanks for sharing

I can't tell you what a strange feeling it was when she sent me the first initial sketch. These two characters are intensely special to me, and she rendered them so well and so much how I envision them...to see them looking back at me was definitely an experience.

Feel free to explore her gallery and leave comments and stuff. Elfwood is a wonderful site, and Elina is a very pleasant young woman.

Only once have I seen an illustration of a character of mine. In my Internet Fan Fiction days. That character, my own creation dropped among the series regulars, took on a life of her own, I'd guess you'd say. I suppose the illustration I saw (long after the fact) derived from the use others put her to in their fanfic stories...

I must be in the minority here then - I usually end up drawing my own characters.

I don't usually draw my own characters; I usually draw other people's.

well I don't draw, period. So I have to rely on others. Plus I already know how they look in my head. Having someone else draw them gives me the wonderful experience of seeing how they look to someone else.
