Anyone here with experience in worldbuilding medieval cities?

I'm going to start working on the city layer for my Bridgetown milieu and was wondering who else had experience. We might be able to swap some ideas.

See http://www.blog.munsil.net/2008/06/22/ for an idea of what I've already done: geology, hydrology and topography.

The oldest layer of the city will be roughly based upon the Bravonium encampment in the GB. http://www.roman-britain.org/places/bravonium.htm

Once I have that in place I'll move foreward in time in rough steps of about 500 years and add new layers until I have created the current version of Bridgetown.

'allo Michael! I have no experience in the kind of world-building you are describing, but have been having fun at a website called Castle Learning Center, which has been very helpful for figuring out those pesky details in a story I am currently working on. Have fun, muchas buscas!
