I've been away a very, very long time and don't think I'll have the time to post again for a very, very long time (which means I may not be able to answer replies to this thread... we'll see). However, I thought I'd pass along this information emailed to me by my homeschool group. The first link is the article sent to me, the second is one I found while I was researching the veracity of what I was sent.

(It should be noted that "vintage"/collectible children's books are exempt because the government expects only adults will use them.)

Regarding used children's books printed prior to 1985: http://city-journal.org/2009/eon0212wo.html

From the ALA regarding library books and the new law: http://www.ala.org/ala/alonline/currentnews/newsarchive/2009/January2009/leadlawstay ed.cfm

I hope all at Hatrack are doing well. Many thanks for helping me with my writing all those years ago.

(To Mods: if I've put this in the wrong place, feel free to move it.)
