Hey, all. Just thought I'd put up an announcement here. Down in the "Hatrack Groups" forum, we have two semi-separate groups of people that are writing and critiquing stories for the Writers of the Future contest each quarter. We've been doing this now for the last six quarters and really have a good bunch of people working together. If anyone else is interested, why don't you come on down and check us out. See what you think.

I've been thinking about joining, but which group is better?

Melanie

(I though about just leaving the question at that and seeing what happened, but I guess what I actually mean is--which group is better for a beginner?)

Rats! I sent my entry for this quarter. I could've used an opinion or two on it. Oh well, I'll try to remember this for next quarter!

Melanie,

Really, the only difference between the two groups are the deadlines. So if you want to get the story done early because you want to finish quickly, or have something else close to the deadline, the first group is great. If you're busier at the start of the deadline, the "regular" group might be better suited to you.

Really, it makes no difference. People switch groups often, lots of us don't stick to the deadlines, etc etc.

Come on down...
