With all the discussion on writing and what makes a writer, I recommend the following 2012 Oscar winner for short animated film. It captures the importance of books exquisitely and eloquently without (appropriately) a single spoken word:

Personally, I'd say it nicely sums up the value of books and what it means to be a writer and reader throughout one's life.
